Hello Everyone,
My checks were cashed yesterday. My application reached NSC on July 14. My I-140 was also approved from NSC.
I got the receipt numbers from the back of the checks, however when I entered them on the USCIS website, it said that the numbers were invalid. Any idea if I need to wait another day or so before the system will accept them?

Great news: IV core is supporting the flower campaign - see this thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6191). :)
We have until tonight to place in the orders so that the flowers can be delivered on Tuesday.
Everyone who kept the faith - thanks and lets continue sending emails or calling people to let them know about it.
People who said that they will send the flowers only if IV core supports it - please send flowers asap.
BTW, I am curious as to who first proposed this idea.

I just got my finger printing notice in mail, where as I was actually expecting to get case number first. But anyway, here are my details :
Priority Date : April 2006
Type : EB2
I485 received by USCIS on 3 rd July 2007 ( By R. Williams)
I140 approved from Texas
Sent I485 to Nebraska. transfered to TX.
got EAD, Case Number and Finger printing notice today from TSC.
finger printing appointment on 10/09
I do not know when and where my checks were cashed from because my company lawyers paid for it and I am in no mood to talk to them.
Hopefully everyone will get greencards soon. Good luck to all..... see you all in FBI name check forum.

I sent the email to senators but was disappointed not to see any SKIL provisions like MS, PHD exemptions.

When is the next congress session? is it in Nov/Dec (the so called lame-duck session). I am wondering about chances of having some immigration measures during that session. Being a lame-duck session, do congressmen can take up a serious measure like immigration for discussion (either CIR or SKIL)? If not - is it possible to introduce some highly desirable stop-gap measures like: ability to apply for 485 during retrogession; recapturing the unused visa numbers from previous years with soft country limits (as is done a few years back); and faster backlog reduction at BEC�s. In short I am wondering about our strategy for next 4-5 months; and is there a hope - however small it maybe � hope of getting something done this year; Or our only hope is with next congress?
Talking about next congress - I was wondering about what is the best outcome for us during elections? Does democrats getting majority in both houses is better for us or is it other way? Or a combo is best for us (democrat majority in house with republican majority in senate).

This thread was opened for working on Action Item. EB2-I community is giving all stupid reasons to divert us from our Action Item. Please stay focused and lets work on Action Items.
We already sent petition to support those three bills. What else shall we do now. We are running out of time and only few days left before Congress goes on recess (or whatever the term is). WE MUST ACT NOW.

Send flowers to DOS/USCIS thanking them for holding us at 2001 and thank them in advance for having decided to hold us at 2001 in 2009.
May be guys in 2001 and 2002 can send them something bigger/better - send them tree saplings.May be you guys will get your GC when those trees yield.

Also issue of discrepancy of EB2-I and EB3-I is raised first time that is after Aug VB. But I think it will fade away after oct VB when normal processing starts as diff in PD between EB3 and EB2 will be 1 or 2 years and each category will have equal Visa numbers for 9 months.
Also the issue of recapture was raised when in 2005 the dates were retrogressed . But I think the issue will fade away after 2014 when most of the categories will be either current or near current.
PS; I am a strong proponent of recapture but such insensitive post to EB3 plight deserves such a response.

Can you all please try to contact USCIS/DOS/local congressman/woman with your request
for EB Spillover visa usage based on the oldest Priority date? If you have already done it please do it again, if not, please do it. Let us try our best to see something can favor us to see our green card atleast this year.

Guys this year's party is pretty much over :rolleyes:....whts the point debating something whether right or wrong which pretty much nobody can do anything about except went frustration from whichever side of the isle one sits on.....
As per Mr C.O. of USCIS I guess they have sent out the party invitation for the year so I guess there is no point sniping at each other. New inivitations will start from July next yr...;)

I don't usually comment on such posts and I have seen a lot of people take the side I am about to take. I just think you are being unnecessarily rude. It is these people and their opinions that cause IV to exist as a group. Lets say you are going to lock membership only to people paying a membership fee every month. How big a group are you going to get?
If it is going to be significant, then maybe that's the way IV should go and should just shut down public forums where there are members who can talk and members who have "not bought their right to talk"
I bring up the "monthly membership" issue because I did make donations on multiple occasions (you should probably look up your records and verify). And yet, under the new design, I am not a donor, I do not get access to the exclusive threads that only the privileged monthly members do. So, just like the OP, I am a thankless member who thinks the group is thankless. So, I do not know what initiatives IV has taken, but yet, I linger around the forums because it has so many smart people throwing around ideas, working on theories and just being friendly.
Maybe you should just create a little forum of yours in one corner and put walls around so no one can come in and make suggestions about things you won't tell them about. Does it take that much effort to be nice to someone? Just remember that he is free to tell you what to do irrespective of who he is. What you actually do is upto you. Just be nice for a change, it will make you get a whole new perspective on life!
