Hi All,
I got mine and my wife green cards on 21st august, Thursday.
Our case was approved on August 12th.
According to the trend I have seen it takes about 1.5 weeks to get your greencard in hand from the day you get the card production email.
Went to the Social Security office on 22nd. (I had actually calculated the day when I would get the cards looking at the trend on IV, so I had planned for it.)
The moment they see the GC (with a replacement card application of course) they know what to do. I think they do it very frequently.
Should get the new Social Security cards (which do NOT have a line at the top that says DHS authorization required to work), in a week or so.
Also I got I-131 DENIED email 2 days after my 485 was approved (I had applied for renewal). Yesterday got the letter form USCIS in the mail for the denial of I-131.

My case was received by NSC on JUN 1st. They issued the recipt numbers on JUN 5th. I am still waiting on my wifes. They could clear on Monday.. Looks like NSC is also trying to speed up things. They are just one day slower than TSC in issuing recepts.

CPO today. Case at local office. Had 1 interview where all documents for status and taxes were checked for the past 12 years. Never had a problem or gap in status and IO was surprised why the case came to local office. I was atleast happy that the interview is the worst thing that can happen and I am done through that.
After 3 infopass appts, 2 SRs in all have the CPO in hand.

I am not sure if opening SR helps, especially for TSC. I opened SR 30 days ago and still waiting. They have not scheduled me yet for an appointment.

Please write and meet local congressman, they have special departmant for immigration issues and USCIS has immigration liaison department for congrassman offices. They might expedite your GC.

See , they started the 3 yr H1B extension only on basis of Retrogression...
and only if you have a approved 140... My Labor was more than 365 days old, so i got couple of 1 yr extension so far... Now my 140 is applied and once approved i'm hoping to apply for 3 yr extension...
But if there is no retrogression - why do i need the above 3 yr H1B ?? I believe the point that IV is addressing is the BURNING issue ... " GET RID OF RETROGRESSION" ....

Quota based on race argument is fallacious. For example, Bangladesh and Pakistan are not limited by the quota. However, they are the of the same ethnic/racial background as people from India.
Thats my point. Why are pakistanis getting green cards and nobody is saying they have taken jobs away from Americans? So many come to US on visa free travel, work 6 months undocumented from european countries, yet they are the first to get the GCs while Indians abuse B1, they abuse H1. How come only Indians abuse everything no one else abuses anything?

It is depressing to see that nothing has changed much since the last post in this thread in 2007!
We are still in the same rut :mad: and not a single immigration news to read either :eek: let alone have any kind of active debate on the topic !!
You are wrong. There have been lot of changes. Two year EAD for one. And how about EB2 category moving to mid 2006 so most of the EB2 people before that have got GC or will surely get it next year. The only thing that hasn;'t changed is EB3 India. It was stuck in 2001 at that time and still is in 2001. It will crawl to 2002 in the coming year but that's that.

1. Download the file and save it to desktop.
2. Click the options on the left when you logon to yahoo mail.
3. Then click the address book to the right.
4. Under management, click Import/Export.
5. Select the yahoo .csv option. Browse to the file and press the import button.
6. All the addresses should be under your contacts now.
Can some one post all the email addresses in one place or at least tell me how to do . i am ready to do that

The fact is that the biggest immediate issue facing the majority of people is Not a green card, it is that they cannot even file for it. Wasn't retrogression the whole reason why people joined IV? GC processing was always slow, and that was a big problem. But it only got to be a critical problem when people realized they could not change jobs and their spouses could not work due to the retrogression.
Let us focus on the low hanging fruits first.
....
a) Filing for stage 3 regardless of PD
b) Relief for people in the LC mess
c) Fingerprinting one person just Once (i mean fingerprints dont change do they?)
... does it make sense to go for a Comprehensive Permanent solution or does it make sense to ask for smaller tid-bits and treat the other costs we incur as "costs of doing business"? ... Let us seriously think about this solution.

I really don't understand these Attorneys. Its clearly mentioned on 485 form that ALL 485 petitions should go to NSC. period.
And as far as I know, due to awareness and the fact we all are professionals who can go to USCIS site and read the instructions in black and white, we should not just rely on this morons (attorneys.. though there are some good ones around)
If you read http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/BiSpec_063006FS.pdf, you'll see that there is a line on page 2 that specifically says "Until further notice, USCIS will not reject applications or petitions filed at an incorrect Service Center. Instead, USCIS will accept the filing, redirect it to the correct location, and honor the initial receipt date."
So if you already know that your I-485 will be adjudicated by the service center where your I-140 was processed, you just save some processing time by sending it there. See also Matthew Oh's May 14, 2007 post in which he says that USCIS may try to accelerate bi-specialization phase III in order to avoid sending massive numbers of files from the central NSC location to the locations where the I-140 processing was done.
My attorney sent my forms to TSC on June 6, 2007. Tick tock tick tock till I get the receipt notice.

If many EB3-I folks are getting GCs then why is EB3-I PD stuck in 2001? Shouldn't it move?
One other note; those eb3 to eb2 conversoins original priority dates were 2003 in eb3.

If anyone's I140 is pending at NSC, they thinks otherwise. You will feel other lanes are fast except one which you are. :D it's humane nature and It's ok to vent. you will feel better.;)

If it goes like this, it will take a century to get EAD and AP itself.
