Try to call them or you may write a letter to them. I really hope and pray you get your EAD card soon. I also had applied in June and received few days ago. Good Luck.

I don't think the Canadian officers will ask you that question. But like someone else said on this thread that question may be raised by the US officers when you return. I am curious to know about this myself.
Aslo (I don't want to scare you but thought you ought to know) there's another discussion going on here http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17061 where the US officers at POE in SF airport raised an issue saying that AP can be only used for imergencies. This looks more like an isolated case but I want everyone to be aware of that case.
In my case, i do not have a valid H-1B visa stamp. I recently visited India and used Advance Parole. Questions related to this
1) do i need to surrender my PAROLE I-94 before departing USA?
2) does canada immigration officer ask me why i have applied for canada gc while my USA gc is in process?:confused:

Sure, I will join the tomorrows march organized by fightnow. Since it is short notice for many IV members there may not be many of us there, but please feel free to join if you can. There are lot of IV members in San Jose.

Thanks for your advice. The intent of the letter is to show a different perspective to Senator Sessions. Nothing more or nothig less. He said he did not receive any feedback from legal immigrants. Fine, we say here it comes. If he continues to block legal immigration reform bills, he has to find another pretext, not "no feedback from immigrants".
There is always a rational side in every human being. Senator Sessions is smart. Let us hope Senator Sessions surprises us by bringing his own version of EB immigration reform.

Senators/Congressmen are rational, smart and intelligent people. We HAVE to apprise them of our situation.
We have a legitimate, common sense and good cause on our side.
In this time of globalization and increased competition, do the senators/congressmen really want this country to lose half a million highly skilled, experienced and trained-in-America-for-years people to India and China, and to Europe and canada?
If they put 'holds' or refuse to take up our cause after they are fully aware of our situation, then atleast you know that they are doing it out of racism and/or narrow political and parochial motives.
But unless we make our situation known to these guys, we shouldn't really blame them.......Also, those with kids born in America might get more of a response from the legislators.
It is pathetic that there is a thread from NJ, and the guy is begging people to join/respond; it is mind-boggling that there are only seven members from NJ. It is absolutely ridiculous that the only two responses on the 'Calling all Wisconsin members' have been from myself, and another person. And that other person is from Illinois......

From this, if we assume ~4000/day, it ll take 20 working days to clear july 2nd filers (~80,000). My guess is by 31st Aug.

It depends on where ur I140 approval came from. What I mean by lag is they receive the application on 1st jun, they are working on assigning the lin # after 6 days. If they were at the same pace they should start working on the new I485 recived on Jun 1st today.

I just visited last month. I stayed there for 6 weeks...
Agree that economy is booking but....
(1) too much pollution.
(2) No infrastructure to handle cars and two wheeleers.
(3) too much mosquito even in winter/summer. I do not know what will happen in rainy days.
(4) prices for every item have gone up by 3X..Most of the item I am not able to justify the rise. The quality of the product has not gone up.
(5) easy to set up business..get house...get car but tough to drive peacefully...need to pray god every morning so that we come back home with 2 hands and 2 legs and unbroken body parts.
(6) Club culture is booming too...so if you have daughter who is teen then need to check by that angle too.
Just my two cents....

Today i added my old H1B (2003) case to my portfolio..i saw LUD on it...LUD date is '14th july 2007'...not sure...14th july is saturday...but no surprise...i saw lot of people posted that their LUD was on weekends....Is it good indication? sorry if i am asking unnecessary question..

Called just now and the agent gave me the receipt numbers for 485 and EAD. No details about AP.
Sent to NSC on july 2nd. Received by them on 3rd.
Had LUD on approved I140. (Transferred to TSC)

As I mentioned earlier I have to land in Canada, now I am thinking of using AVR. My expired H1B was from Company A then I shifted to company B. I now have H1B extension and valid I-94 from company B.
Can I still use AVR? I didn't find the answer, anybody who used AVR(similar scenario like mine) can u plz reply....

The morons taking the high moral ground need to make a reality check. let me state that i came here on F1 did my master's and got a job. so i'm not one of those sleazy guys who bent the rules according to these morons.
there is no one ready to give u a job if u dont have a GC or a EAD or OPT or u go through a consultant. These guys should know that first. Everyone does apply through a body shopper which is not right.. but is there a way out...
