Just a quick update:
All 3 Lofgren bills will be marked up next week in the subcommittee.
IV is working with the committee members at this time and will give more updates as the bills move forward. Please continue to make calls.
Folks please call � Lobbying/Calling people is the way things get done in US� Get over your shyness. Just Do it.

Hagel Introduces Legislation to Deal with Illegal Immigrants Living in the U.S.
So, on the Illegal side we have:
Senate Bill: Hagel with The Immigrant Accountability Act of 2007
House Bill: Flake with the STRIVE
On the Legal and High-Tech side we have:

I entered the US as a student in Jan '99 and did a couple of trips on my F1 visa and since I got my H1-B approval notice in 2001, I never left until last December '07 and returned with a stamped H1-B visa.
I would be "ok" if they asked for all returns since 2001 as that's when I actually started working and used the H1-B, but why is he asking for returns from 1999, I have no clue...
That's why I mentioned it feels like he wants to deny my applicatoin. Can he deny it if I can't produce the returns for '99 and '00 even though I filed my returns and the IRS can't produce evidence that I did or didn't?
I do have the W-2's from '99 and '00...
Any ideas/help from senior members or someone that had a similar situation?
If you have w-2's you just need to fill 1040NR-EZ and send it back to the requesting officer. I don't understand what is the problem in fill a form and signing it and sending in the copies of it... what difference does it make if it was filled in 1999 or 2008 as it will be the same thing.... if they have a problem ask them to verify it with IRS which I am sure they will not able to do as there is no way so they have to accept what you submit... just my $0.02.. ask your attorney about this...

You are saying ur PD was Sec 2005? Mine is Dec 2005. Should I also expect it sometime soon :)?
We all can expect and keep expecting ;-) My PD is Nov 2004 (EB2 NIW), RD for 485 is Aug 2005. Who knows, you could be luckier and FBI likes your name... They seemed to be not liking mine though.

My immigration status is H1 (485 pending EB2/INDIA). I am on the verge of completing my 2 year Masters in Computer Information Systems (MS-CIS) from Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri. Its a distance education Masters program with one week of on-campus residency every semester. The program is geared towards working IT professionals and its accredited by AACSB. All the written agreements are valid in most of the states. but you can argue on the terms of agreement. He cannot ask her to stay in the company for 4 years. If she works in that company for 1 year, her employer should recover all the money he spent on her.
The best way is to work there for 1 or 2 years and walk out without paying anything. Or just pay the filing fee and get out right away.

I am changing job and moving to EAD from h1b. My 140 is approved and 485 has been pending more than 180 days. I am in EB2 category.
Question 1 - New employer wants to inform USCIS about job change and I dont want to do so as it just might delay AOS process? suggestions/thoughsts?
Question 2 - New employer wants to apply for EAD and AP via corporate attorney and I prefer that my attorney do that but if i will have no choice I will have to give up BUT can corporate lawyers apply for my EAD and AP without me changing my legal rep with USCIS?
Question 3 - The job title was "Sr Systems Analyst" and now it would be "System Quality Analyst 5" 5 is the highest level in this company after which it goes to Tech. Manager. I dont see issue with the title...do you see any issue? (job description are similar-I would say about 70%)
Question 4 - Salary at the time of filing 140 was 60k offered for the Sr. System Analyst position and now with the new job is 100k. Can that be a problem?

I had filled A # from I-140 in my 485 application form, but my 485 receipts shows different A #, both my I-140 and different number from 485 receipt starts with 088, I am primary applicant and my spouse's A # are different too and her numbers also starts with 088.

Can someone advise on this. My 6 yrs of H1 expires in Jan 2008. Employer says they will only apply 90 days prior to H1-b expiration.
They already applied my 485 and AP.
What should I be doing?
1. Can I apply EAD myself?
2. will I get in trouble if I do not have EAD and my H1 expires?

once you use EAD- for fellowship
you cannot be on an H1 from moonlighting.
if your wife is with a reputable firm, i would imagine the risk is low with an approved 140
i would ask a good attorney though.

I have a question, my attorney says that he has filed the application on 2nd July without my signature.

I am worried if it is valid or not.
